Café Mankind is close by the Rijksmuseum, and the Antiques Quarter around the Spiegelgracht is only a few blocks away. This café is secluded beside the slow-moving waters of the Lijnbaansgracht. Mankind possesses its own canal-side terrace, patio and landing stage, so it is possible to get there by boat. |
Any visitor to Amsterdam at a loss what to do, should make a point of visiting Mankind, especially on a warm summer day, to sip a drink by the quiet canal, relax and admire the quaint 200- to 300-year-old houses. |

At night and in the colder season, the bar is warm and snug enough to be a welcome refuge at any time, and it makes a virtue of its distance from the more voguish concentrations of gay establishments by offering its customers a distinctively individual attention and service. |

Café
Mankind is a welcoming stop on your visit to The
café, owned and run by Frank for
over twenty years, offers a warm and friendly welcome at any time of
the year. In the summer you can relax on our canal side terrace or
street side patio; and when it gets colder, the café is a snug and
warm haven from the chill of the canals. Aside
from offering an excellent range of freshly made hot and cold light
dishes, sandwiches and snacks, the dish of the day – in Dutch its
called the dagschotel – is great value at € 9,50. A vegetarian option is always available. Our kitchen is
open daily from 12.00 until 20.00 hours. At
Mankind we have always provided that ‘little bit extra’ and have
time to chat, recommend events or attractions you may not have thought
of and will do all we can to make your time
in We
are also able to offer our bar and boat for birthday parties and other
celebrations and gatherings. Please contact Frank for details. We
look forward to seeing you. |
